Make a complete security inspection | of his area of responsibility |
with the ITR Sergeant | he is relieving |
Ensure reports are prepared and submitted | on all unusual incidents that Occur |
Conduct frequent security and sanitation rounds | of his area of responsibility |
But no less than | four rounds per watch |
Ensure discrepancies noted or found | during rounds are corrected or Properly documented |
Ensure all logs and reports are completed | and routed appropriately |

Assign Corrections Officers | to respond to emergencies (fires, inmate fights, signal 17's, etc.) when required |
Ensure all inmate institutional files | are routed with inmates being transported to another facility, when appropriate |
Be responsible for city vehicles | assigned to his area of responsibility during his tour of duty |
Account for all weapons and ammunition | assigned to his area of Responsibility |
Ensure trusties are properly | supervised and kept working |
Ensure all doors remain closed and locked | as outlined in Corrections Operational Order 10.11, Security Doors and Gates |
Ensure the telephone, radio, and call buttons | are answered immediately |
Review entries made in Correctional Management Information System | (CMIS) from Corrections Officers assigned to his area of responsibility |
Ensure reported maintenance discrepancies | are listed in the C.A.R.E |
Account for restraints assigned | to his area of responsibility |
Ensure vehicles assigned to the watch | are properly checked |
and cleaned at the beginning | and end of each watch |
