job terms and letter parts
Term | Definition |

application letter | a cover letter that introduce you to a potential employer and gives you a chance to sell your qualification |
letter address | the part of the letter that contains the name and address of the person or company to whom you are writting |
body | the message section of letter |
resume' | begin to do or pursue (something) again after a pause or interruption |
experience | knowledge and skills acquired from working in a career field |
thank you letter | a letter that is used when one person/party wishes to express appreciation to another. |
employment application | A preprinted from that must be filled out when applying for employment |
return address | the address of the person sending the message. |
reference letter | very specific in nature and normally requested and always addressed to an individual, whereas a letter of reference is more general in nature and usually addressed "to whom it may concern". |
reference | the action of mentioning or alluding to something. |
salutation | a gesture or utterance made as a greeting or acknowledgment of another's arrival or departure. |
complimentary closing | a courteous phase used to end a letter |
personal information | to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. |
interview | a meeting of people face to face, especially for consultation. |
scannable resume' | that scans the content of a paper document as a graphic image and then converts it back to tex |

block style letter | known as printscript, manuscript, print writing or ball and stick in academics |
open puncuation | punctuation characterized by sparing use of stops, esp of the comma |
mixed puncuation | simply applying a colon at the end of any salutation |
