The bill of rights and the 13 amendments

First Amendment Freedoms | Congress cannot make laws about religion or creating a national religion; |

Second Amendment Bearing arms | the right of the people to keep and bear arms cannot be infringed |
Third Amendment Quartering | No soldier, in time of peace or war, be quartered in any house without the consent of the owner |
Fourth Amendment Search and seizures | the right of the people to be secure in their persons, house, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures. There must be a warrant. |
Fifth Amendment Due Process | No person shall be held for a capital crime unless on the indictment of a grand Jury |
Fifth Amendment Due Process | no person can be tried twice for the same offence |

Sixth Amendment Criminal proceedings | In all criminal prosecutions, the accused has the right to a speedy trial with an impartial jury of their peers. |
