What four things related to cargo are drivers responsible for? Inspecting your cargo, recognizing overloads and poorly balanced weight, knowing your cargo is properly secured and does not obscure your view, knowing your cargo does not restrict your access to emergency equipment.
How often must you stop while on the road to check your cargo? first 50 miles, then 150 miles or 3 hours or every break your take during driving
How is GCWR different from GCW GCW: total weight of a single vehicle plus it's load. GCWR: Maximum GCW specified by the manufacturer
Name two situations where legal maximum weights may not be safe During bad weather or in mountains
What can happen if you don't have enough weight on the front axle? Poor traction.
What is the minimum number tiedowns for any flat bed load? at least 2 tie downs
What if the minimum number of tiedowns for a 20 foot load? one tie down per ten feet, or two tie downs
Name two basic reasons for covering cargo on an open bed. Protect people from spilled cargo and to protect cargo from weather.
What must you check before transporting a sealed load? that you don't exceed gross weight and axle weight limits
