QuestionAnswer
Rotation the action of rotating around an axis or center.
Day a period of twenty-four hours as a unit of time, reckoned from one midnight to the next, corresponding to a rotation of the earth on its axis.
Revolution a forcible overthrow of a government or social order in favor of a new system.
Year the period of 365 days (or 366 days in leap years) starting from the first of January, used for reckoning time in ordinary affairs.
Season each of the four divisions of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter) marked by particular weather patterns and daylight hours, resulting from the earth's changing position with regard to the sun.
Equinox the time or date (twice each year) at which the sun crosses the celestial equator, when day and night are of equal length
Solstice either of the two times in the year, the <i>summer solstice</i> and the <i>winter solstice</i>, when the sun reaches its highest or lowest point in the sky at noon, marked by the longest and shortest days.
