I bought a package of pens at the store. One pen has a mass of 6 grams. If there are 12 pens in the package, what is the total mass of all of the pens? 12 x 6 = 72. The total mass of all the pens is 72 grams.
I bought a bag of Cheetos with a mass of 72 grams. I want to put the Cheetos into 8 ziploc bags. If I put the same weight in each of the bags, how many grams should I put in each bag? 72 divided by 8 = 9. If I split up the Cheetos equally into 8 ziploc bags, I would get a total of 9 grams per bag.
Danielle has a fish tank that holds 25 liters. Sam has a fish tank that holds 32 liters. How many more liters will Sam’s fish tank hold? How many liters would I need to fill both fish tanks? 32 - 25 = 7 Sam's fish tank holds 7 more liters than Danielle's fish tank.
Mass is the measure of the amount of matter (how heavy something is) in an object. Mass is measured in_________. (Liters or grams) Mass is measured in grams.
Chase has 139 grams of grapes. Madi has 75 grams of grapes. How many grams of grapes do they have altogether? 139 + 75 = 214. Use the expanded form strategy to help you solve this addition problem. The answer is 214 grams altogether.
An apple would weigh about how much? a. 1 gram b. 100 grams c. 1 kilogram 100 grams (1 gram = about the weight of a paper clip)
A small child would weigh about how much? a. 1 gram b. 30 grams c. 1 kilogram d. 30 kilograms A small child would weigh about 30 kilograms. (1 kilogram = about the weight of a thick book)
A pencil has a mass of about 5 grams. What is the total mass, in grams, of 6 pencils? 6 x 5 = 30. 6 pencils that weigh about 5 grams each would equal a total of 30 grams.
Mr. Sena baked a large pizza with a mass of 8 kilograms. He cut the pizza into 4 equal pieces. Draw a picture of the pizza and label how much each piece weighs. How did you get your answer? You should have drawn a pizza with 4 slices. Since the total weight is 8 kilograms. 8 divided by 4 = 2. This means each slice weighs 2 kilograms each. So your picture should have 4 slices with 2 kilograms written in each slice.
Eddy weighs 88 kilograms. Brian weighs 71 kilograms. Chris weighs 39 kilograms. About how many kilograms do the three boys weigh altogether? Round to the nearest 10 to find your answer. Since we're ESTIMATING we can round each weight to the nearest 10.Eddy's weight of 88 kilograms can be rounded to 90. Brian's weight can be rounded to 70.Chris' weight can be rounded to 40 kilograms. 90 + 70 + 40 = 200.About 200 kilograms is the answer.
Isaac shared his treats equally between himself and his friends. Which expression shows how Isaac shared the treats? The variable p stands for the unknown. p x 7 p + 7 p ÷ 7 p - 7 Since Isaac is sharing his snacks equally he can divide. p ÷ 7
What is the missing number? Storybooks Ribbons 1 4 2 8 3 12 4 16 8 ? ? = 32 This is because there are 4 ribbons for every storybook. 8 x 4 = 32
