What are four factors that affect the size of a population? Immigration, Births, Emigrations, and Deaths
How do these four factors change when a population’s size is declining? The immigration and births rate will go down, while he emigration and death rate will go up
When resources are abundant, what type of growth do populations usually exhibit? Exponential Growth occurs when the resources are abundant
When resources are limited, what type of growth do populations usually exhibit? Logistic Growth occurs
Contrast birth and death rates (or immigration and emigration rates) in populations exhibiting exponential growth versus birth with death rates (or immigration and emigration rates) in populations exhibiting logistic growth. In Exponential growth occurs the birth/immigration rates will go up while the death and emigration rates will only go up in Logistic growth
What is a population’s carrying capacity? Which growth curve shows a population that has hit its carrying capacity?
