Who is a cell? A basic unit of all living things
Who is a membrane? A part of the cell that controls what comes in and out of the cell
Who is a nucleus? A part of the cell that controls what the cell does.
Who is DNA? A molecule found in the nucleus that controls all the processes in the cell.
Who is cytoplasm? A part of the cell where all the chemical reactions take place.
Who is a cell wall? A part of a plant cell that provides support to the cell
Who is a vacuole? A part of a plant cell that stores sap. Sap is made of water and sugar.
Who is a chloroplast? A part of the plant cell where food is made using sunlight, water and carbon dioxide.
Who is photosynthesis? A process by which plants make their food from water and carbon dioxide using energy from sunlight
Who is a stem cell? An unspecialised cell that can divide to make more unspecialised cells that can become specialised
Who is an embryonic stem cell? A stem cell that is found in an embryo. It can produce all specialised cell types
Who is an adult stem cell? A stem cell found in an adult, for example in bone marrow. It can produce only some cell types
Who is a red blood cell? A specialised animal cell that carries oxygen around the body.
Who is a white blood cell? A specialised animal cell that fights infection and secretes antibodies.
Who is an egg cell? A specialised animal cell that is produced by females. It is a biggest cell in human body.
Who is a sperm cell? A specialised animal cell that is produced by males. It has a tail so that it can swim to the egg to fertilize it.
Who is a nerve cell? A specialised animal cell that is conducts electrical impulses between the brain and the body.
Who is a gut cell? A specialised animal cell that has a large surface area to absorb nutrients from food.
Who is a muscle cell? A specialised animal cell that can stretch and contract to produce movement.
Who is a lung cell? A specialised animal cell that produces mucus and has hairs that can remove the material from the lungs
