What is a consumer? A consumer is anyone who buys goods and services for their own use.
Does a good consumer throw out receipts? True or False? False.
What is a brand? A brand is the identity of a particular product.
What is a symbol? A symbol gives us added information about a product.
List 2 pieces of information a label must include. The name under which the product is sold. ~ A list of all ingredients. ~ The net quality of the product in the packet, i.e. the weight. ~ The best before date or the use by date. ~ Any special storage conditions required.
Are loss leaders low or high priced items? Low priced items.
What is a receipt? A receipt is a written acknowledgment that a specified article or payment has been received.
What are the 3 rules about the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980? Goods must be of ‘merchantable quality’ ~ Goods must be ‘fit for the purpose’ ~ Goods must be ‘as described’. ~
What are the rules about services in the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980? The person supplying the service must have the necessary skills to do the job. They must do the job properly Any materials they use must be of good quality.
What is a trader? A trader buys goods to sell them, therefore personal use.
What does NCA stand for? The National Consumer Agency .
