Term | Definition |

Income | Is money, goods or services received by a household |
Regular Income | This is money received on a continuous basis |
Wages | Income received based on the hours worked |
Salary | Income received for doing a job no matter how many hours you spend at it |
Job Seekers Benefit | Income received by people who are unemployed |
Child Benefit | Income received once a month from the government if you have children under the age of 16, or under 18 if they are still in full time education |
Interest on saving | Income received for saving money in a bank |
Irregular income | Is any extra income that you may receive |
Bonuses | Extra payments for employees who may have reached their targets |
Dividends | Money received by owners of shares. |
Benefit in kind | Non-money income received for work done |
Statutory Deductions | deductions that must, by law, be taken from gross wages. |
PAYE | Pay As You Earn |
PRSI | Pay Related Social Insurance |
USC | Universal Social Charge |
