6/8 | a compound duple time signature with two dotted crotchets in a bar |
9/8 | a compound triple time signature with three dotted crotchets in a bar |
perfect cadence | Chord V to I |
plagal cadence | Chord IV to I |
binary | a form with two sections A and B |
ternary | a form with three sections A B A |
largamente | broadly |
larghetto | rather broadly |
prestissimo | extremely fast or as fast as possible |
con motto | with movement |
calando | getting softer and slower |
morendo | dying away |
forte-piano | loud then immediately soft |
sforzando | a strong accent |
agitato | with agitation |
attacca | go on at once |
animato | with animation |
tranquillo | calmly |
con anima | with feeling |
con brio | with spirit |
