Co-teaching To share instructional responsibility and accountability for a single group of students for whom both teachers have responsibility for educating
ONE TEACH, ONE SUPPORT Co-teaching Model one teacher has the primary responsibility for planning and teaching, while the other teacher moves around the classroom helping individuals and observing particular behaviors.
PARALLEL TEACHING Co-teaching Model Both teachers plan jointly but split the classroom in half to teach the same information at the same time.
ALTERNATIVE TEACHING Co-teaching Model One teacher manages most of the class while the other teacher works with a small group inside or outside of the classroom.
STATION TEACHING Co-teaching Model Both teachers divide the instructional content, and each takes responsibility for planning and teaching part of it.
TEAM TEACHING Co-teaching Model Both teachers are responsible for planning, and they share the instruction of all students. The lessons are taught by both teachers who actively engage in conversation, not lecture, to encourage discussion by students.
Accommodation Any change in the timing, formatting, setting, scheduling, response and/or presentation that allows a student to complete the same assignment or test as all other students.
Modification an adjustment to an assignment or a test that changes the standard or what the test or assignment is supposed to measure
Inclusion expresses commitment to educate each child, to the maximum extent appropriate, in the school and classroom he/she would otherwise attend. Bringing the support services to the child and requires only that the child will benefit from being in the class.
Instructional Technology The use of technology to enhance and extend learning being taught in the classrooms. Examples include, desktop and laptop computers, iPads, digital cameras and even cell phones and much more!
Assistive Technology Any item, piece of equipment or product system, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of children with disabilities. The term does not include a medical device that is surgically implanted.
