Color terms

What is a monochromatic color scheme? Tints and shades of one color(hue)
What is an analogous color scheme? Made up of 3 or more colors next to each other on the color wheel
What is an accented neutral color scheme? All neutral colors plus ONE other color( the amount of color has to be less than the neutrals)
What color scheme is 2 colors opposite on the color wheel? Complimentary color harmony
How many colors in a split complemetary color scheme? Created by using any color and the two colors located next to that colors complement (in a Y shape)
Name the Primary colors. Red, Blue, Yellow
Name the secondary colors. Orange, Purple, Green
What is the value of a color? The lightness or darkness of a color
What is the intensity of a color mean? The brightness or dullness of a color
What is the hue? a color with a different reflected wave length of light
How do you make a tint? add white
How do you make a shade? add black
What are the warm colors? Red, Orange, and Yellow
What are the cool colors.? Blue, Green, and Violet
What are the neutral colors? Black, Grey, White, Brown, and Tan
What is unique about the primary colors? they can not be made from any other colors
Name 3 tertiary colors. red-violet, blue-violet, and blue-green
What is the proper way to name a tertiary color? First write the primary color used and then the secondary (ex. Blue-green)
What is another name for a tertiary color? Mix Color
What is a triadic color scheme? Three colors that are located within equal distance of each other
