Finding and Applying for a Job

TermDefinition
Job Lead Information about a job that is available. (newspaper ad, internet, family, etc.)
Networking Communicating with people you know or meet to share information and advice about jobs.
Referral A recommendation from a contact who is part of your network.
Social Security Number A nine digit number issued by the federal government needed for all workers.
Entry- Level Job A job that does not require a lot of education or experience.
Work Permit Needed to work if you are 14 to 17.
Where do you get a Work Permit (Working Papers) from? Local school district
Open ad An job ad that tells you the name of the employer, how to apply and requirements of the job.
