What is pharmacodynamics? The study of how drugs affect the body.
What is Pharmacokinetics? The study of how drugs are introduced into the body.
What is Pharmacotherapeutics? The study of how drugs are used in the treatment of a disease.
What is Posology? The study of the exact amount of a drug needed for a therapeutic effect.
What is Toxicology? The study of harmful effects of drugs on the body.
What is Adverse Affects? Instances when there is an undesirable and potentially hazardous effect after ingestion of the drug.
What is an Agonsit? A drug that binds to a specific receptor on a cell, typically called a target cell.
What is an Antagonist? An inhibitor, a drug that counteracts, or provides the opposite effect of an agonist.
What is a chemical name? Chemical composition of a specific drug.
What are contraindications? A term stating that a specific drug or combo of drugs should not be used by a person or class of people because the use may have a dangerous and possibly fatal effect.
What is a dose? The exact amount of a drug to produce adesirable effect.
What is the drug indication? Exact reason for the use of the drug.
What is a drug? Any chemical substance that, when ingested,injected or applied to skin or any other administration will caues a specific change in the body.
What is the Generic Name? Drugs are released into the market with 2 names. Generic is more appropriatley used for the exact name of the drug.
What is OTC? Availible to the public without a prescription.
What is MOA(Mechanism of Action)? How a drug works or, after the drug is ingested what effects will it have on the body (good or bad)
What is a n MI(Myocardial Infarction)? A Heart Attack
What is the Carbon Dioxide abbreviation? CO2
What is diasystole? When the hear is at rest, the botton number on the blood pressure monitor.
What is systole? When the heart contracts, or top number on blood pressure monitor.
What is CHF? Congestive Heart Failure.
What is CAD? Coronary Artery Disease.
What is COPD? Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
The heart contains how many chambers? Four
Real pressure in the body is is regulated by very small vessels called? Capillaries
What regulates almost all of the electrical systems in the body? Sodium Potassium pump
