The Friedman Doctrine | "As long as businesses stay within the rules of the law, the practice is okay to do." This philosophy focuses on increasing profits and disregards social responsibility beyond what the law governs. |
The Righteous Moralist | When operating in a foreign company, the multinational firm's home ethics are the appropriate standards to follow |
Naive Immoralist | This strawmen philosophy states that if other nation's firm are acting unethically at it's host country, then it's okay for other multinational's to perform unethically as well. |
Utilitarian Ethics | Weighing good consequences versus bad consequences for the greater good. This philosophy chooses the action that creates the most good than bad. It chooses the greatest good for the greatest # of people. |
Kantian Ethics | This philosphy states that people are more than just a machine or instrument, they are people with dignity and rights and should be treated with dignity. |
Rights Theories | Every human being from all cultures and nations have minimal fundamental rights & privileges (i.e. freedom of speech) |
