What is a point? It is an exact location. A dot.
What is a line? Hint: How many dots or arrows? A line is a straight path that goes on forever with arrows on each end. <------------------->
What is a ray? Hint: How many dots or arrows? A ray has a starting point, then an arrow that goes on forever. @------------>
What is a line segment? Hint: How many dots? A line segment has two dots. @----------@
What are congruent line segments? They are line segments that have the same length. ====== dots on each line.
What is a midpoint of a line? Hint: Middle A midpoint is the middle of a line that has a dot. -----@-------
What is a plane? Hint: You do not fly in it. A plane is a flat surface that extends forever in all directions.
What are intersecting lines? They are two lines that meet at one point. They intersect like two roads. Like the letter " X "
What are parallel lines? Parallel lines never touch or meet. Like an "equals" sign. ====
What are perpendicular lines? Perpendicular lines intersect at a 90 degree angle to each other. Like the letter " t "
What does this mean CD with a solid line over it? CD with a solid line means it is a "line segment"
What does CD mean with one arrow over it? CD with a arrow over it means it is a ray that starts and never ends.
What does CD with an arrow in two directions over it mean? CD with two arrows over it mean the ray goes forever in each direction.
