diversity | the comprehensive including of people with differences in personal characteristics and attributes |
Downsizing | a planned reduction in the number of employees needed in a firm in order to reduce costs and make the business more efficient. |
Glass Ceiling | an artificial limit placed on minority groups moving into positions of authority ,and decision making |
incentive | Inducement or supplemental reward that serves as a motivational device for a desired action or behavior. |
Job Analysis | process of gathering and analyzing information about the content and the human requirements of jobs, as well as, the context in which jobs are performed. |
labor union | organizations formed by workers from related fields that work for the common interest of its members. |
Organization | is an individual or group of people that collaborate to achieve certain commercial goals. |
Outsourcing | The practice of having certain job functions done outside a company instead of having an in-house department or employee handle them; functions can be outsourced to either a company or an individual |
promotion | refers to raising customer awareness of a product or brand, generating sales, and creating brand loyalty. It is one of the four basic elements of the market mix, which includes the four P's: price, product, promotion, and place. |
termination | the end of an employment relationship between a company and an employee . |
transfer | the assignment of an employee to another job in the company with a similar level of responsibility. |
Work Enviroment | the physical conditions and the psychological atmosphere in which employees work |
Salary & Wages | direct payment of money to an employment for work completed. |
Workforce | all of the people 16 yrs. or older who are employed or who are looking for a job. |
