Classroom Management Steps teachers take to organize their classroom for optimal learning, engage students in that learning, and minimize behaviors that disrupt it.
Authoritarian Style Management style that seeks to control students' behavior through many rules, procedures and consequences.
Permissive Style Management style that sets few expectations and rules for students and enforces them inconsistently.
Authoritative Style Management style that seeks to shape students' behavior through setting high expectations, explanations, and consistent application of consequences.
School Policies Set overall guidelines and generally address major issues such as attendance and dress code.
Class Rules Guidelines for student behavior specific to a class or teacher.
Classroom Procedures They translate the class rules into concrete actions expected for students.
Nonverbal Cues Often used to stop minor misbehavior.
