How did Bud get revenge on the Amos family? Filled jelly jar with warm water and put Todd's hands in it. Then poored it on his pj bottoms and made him pee the bed in his sleep.
What happened to Miss Hill, the librarian? Got married and moved to Chicago.
What did Momma and her dad get in a fight about when she got her picture taken on the miniature horse? Her dad made her pose in a filthy white cowboy hat and she didn't want to get picture taken nor sit on the horse.
What are the four things Momma used to talk to Bud about? 1) About picture her dad made her take in the filthy hat. 2) His name is Bud, not Buddy and don't let anyone call you Buddy. 3) Told him not to worry she would explain things to him when he was older. 4) When one door closes another door opens.
Bud was late for breakfast at the Mission; however, he got to eat anyway. How? What did he get sprinkled on his oatmeal? A stranger put hand on Bud's neck and called him Clarance, they pretended he was part of their family and that he went to restroom and needed to get back in line with his mom. He got brown sugar sprinkled on his oatmeal.
Who was Deza Malone? The little girl who does the dishes at Hooverville. She separates the dish washers to get them completed.
What does Bud do for the first time with Deza? First Kiss
What was the town "Hooverville" like? A lot of poor people living in cardboard shacks outside, wood scraps and cloths. It had a fire and music playing. They could smell food cooking too.
Who was the town of "Hooverville" named after and why? Herbert Hoover - The president of the United States. They blamed him for the depression. Hoover was not doing anything to help in the depression.
What happens when Bud tries to catch the train with Bugs? When he throws his suitcase to bugs on the train his flyer falls out. He catches the flyer and folds it and puts into his pocket. Then he runs after the train and misses it.
What does Bud notice about the names Calloway and Caldwell? He noticed the names are really close and that maybe his mom changed his name to Caldwell from Calloway. Eight letters have c a l and w in the name both; both start with a c.
Other than going to the library, what did Bud decided to do after leaving the Amos' house? He decided to go on the lam.
