Why did the Germans leave Northern Europe? In search of warmer climates and better grazing lands
What kind of homes did the Germans live in? Long thatched roof huts with open space around them. Families shared space with animals and heated rooms with body heat.
Who made up the household? Grandparents, Parents, Married Children, Children, Children's children. 30 - 20 members.
How did the Germans socialize? What did they do for fun? Entertained guests, Eating, Drinking, Dancing, Gambling, Boxing, Wrestling, and Skating
What did the men recieve for their acceptance as a warrior? Shield and Spear. Loss of shield or spear means loss of honor.
What was the German's view of law? Law came from the people
Why was cattle so important to the Germans? The Germans made their living herding cattle. Traded cattle. Provided food, clothing, and heat.
