List and describe a couple of ways that technology is very different in New Pretty Town from where you live. People have rings that control elevators and more. Everyone rides hoverboards and they can stay up late and party a lot.
Explain your understanding of a hoverstrut. A strut on a hoverboard.
Explain your understanding of an interface ring. It controls elevators and more things.
In your opinion, is Tally jealous of the Pretties? Yes because she wants to be like them.
How do you think Peris felt about Tally showing up in New Pretty Towm? Nervous and excited.
What seems to be the difference between New Pretties and Middle Pretties? The New Pretties are "prettier" than the Middle Pretties.
Do you think Tally and Shaykh will escape New Pretty Town without problems? No because they might get caught.
The first line if the book says, "The early summer sky was the color of cat vomit." Why do you think the author wrote this as a first line? To explain what time of day it was.
Who is the main character of the story? Tally Youngblood
What surprised or interested you as you read this chapter? How her friend is a Pretty and she isn't.
From what you read in the beginning about the main character, list a couple of adjectives/phrases that describe her. Tally had a wide nose, thin lips, a high forehead, and frizzy hair.
Read the last line of the first chapter. Is it a metaphor? Explain. No. ???
Do you think Tally will find Peris? How do you think Peris will react if Tally finds him? Yes. Peris will be happy.
