Bill of Rights
Term | Definition |

1st Amendment | Freedom of RAPPS, Congress cannot violate these rights |
2nd Amendment | People have the right to own and have a gun and every state has a right to have a militia |
3rd Amendment | Freedom form quartering, or housing, soldiers during peacetime without consent of the people |
4th Amendment | Freedom from unreasonable search and seizures without a warrant. Privacy is implied |
5th Amendment | Protect the rights of the accused. Don't have to incriminate yourself on stand; therefore, can refuse to answer questions, cant be tried twice for same crime |
6th Amendment | Right to a speedy, fair, and public trial & ability to confront your accuser. Right to an attorney. |
7th Amendment | Right to Trial by Jury of peers, particularly in civil cases |
8th Amendment | No excessive fines & no cruel and unusual punishment. |
9th Amendment | People have rights that are not specifically mentioned in the Constitution. |
10th Amendment | Powers not given to the national government belong to the states. |
