What reason did the author give for using Lewis Carroll as the name of the author? He thought it was more festive.
Why was she upset when she saw the book? Her name was misspelled.
Why did Alyss accuse Mr. Dodgson of being the cruelest man? He had turned the book into a "child's book" and had made it sound like make-believe.
What is the name of the city where Alyss lives? Wondertropolis
Who is the queen? Queen Genevieve; who is also Alyss's mother.
What did Queen Genevieve do with all the looters and pillagers? She had them rallied up and sent to the crystal mines.
How did the other families view Queen Genevieve? They were jealous and they thought that they could rule better than her.
What was the city celebrating? Alyss's 7th birthday and the inventors parade.
What made the inventors parade unique? It was a time when people could show off their skills to the queen. The best inventions were sent to the crystal heart.
What happened after something was placed in the crystal heart? It was dispersed throughout the universe and invented to be used for something.
What were the reasons for King Nolan's absence? He went to Borderland to stop Redd's activities.
What was an important part of life in Wonderland? Imagination
What are the guiding principles of the Heart Dynasty? love, justice, and duty to the people.
Why is undisciplined imagination worse than no imagination? It can do more harm than good.
Why had King Nolan taken the journey to Borderland? To establish an alliance with with King Arch against Redd.
How would you describe King Arch's attitude toward women in power? He thought that the place of power was no place for a woman.
What would King Arch receive in return for his military support? Crystal Mining rights within their borders, twice yearly payments of a million howlite gemstones, and the use of their military if needed.
Who is Bibwit Harte? He is Alyss's tutor, and the tutor for the royal family.
What must any potential queen complete before they reach their full imagination and be fit to rule? Looking Glass Maze
Who knows the location of the Maze? The caterpillars
Describe what Bibwit Harte looks like. He is an albino, seven feet tall, he has bluish green veins that you can see under his skin, and ears to big for his face.
Who is General Doppelganger and what is unique about him? He is the commander of the royal army and he can split into two people.
What role does the blue caterpillar play? He can see the future
Who is Hatter Madigan? He is the leading member of Wonderland's millinery, and he is the queen's personal bodyguard.
What does the prank Alyss played on Bibwit tell us about her? She is kind of mean, and she may be starting to become a little like Redd.
What does King Nolan find in the Outerwilderbeastia? He finds Redd's cards soldiers stacked.
What happens to King Nolan and his men? They get ambushed by a deck of soldiers that they did not see hiding in the bushes. They all get killed, and King Nolan gets killed by Redd.
Who was Alyss's best friend? Dodge Anders.
What did Dodge give Alyss for her birthday? A jabberwock tooth.
Why were the soldiers frowning in the holographic crystal of Dodge kissing Alyss on the cheek? Dodge was breaking the importance of class distinction.
Who interrupted Dodge and Alyss while they were dancing? Jack of Diamonds.
Describe Jack of Diamonds. He has a big rump and wears a big white wig.
What did Dodge do when Jack of Diamonds started to taunt Alyss and him? Dodge punched him and his wig fell off.
What happens if you fall into the Pool of Tears? You get taken out of Wonderland.
How did the Pool of Tears get its name? People sat and wept for their loved ones that fell in.
What greeted Alyss when they reached the gate? A kitten
Who were the great oracles of the region? The Caterpillars.
What ability were they said to have? They could prophesize the future.
What did Hatter Madigan want to do after the queen told him that she had seen the blue caterpillar? He said that they should prepare a defense.
Who did Queen Genevieve see in the smoke from the Blue Caterpillar? Redd.
Why was Queen Genevieve having a difficult time concentrating at the party? The prophecy from the caterpillars was disturbing her.
What did Jack of Diamonds accuse Alyss and Dodge of doing? Sneaking out of the palace.
What did the Lord of Diamonds want for compensation against his son, Jack of Diamonds? More Land.
What happened to the kitten? It transformed into "The Cat"
What made black imagination grow within someone? Deep hatred and vengeance within yourself.
What did Redd do that amazed her soldiers because she hadn't done it for so long? She smiled.
Who made up Redd's army? The insignificant cards; 2's, 3's, 4's, and 5's.
Why had Redd been removed from succession to the throne? She experimented with imagination stimulants and crystals and never cared for love, justice, or duty to the people.
How did the poisonous mushroom kill her Redd's mother? It grew roots in her throat and suffocated her.
What had happened to Redd's father after his wife died? He went insane.
What happened when Doppelganger pulled the lever? The black and white tiles flipped over to reveal white chessmen.
What prevented the card soldiers from dying after Alyss imagined them dead? Their will to live.
What did the Lord of Diamonds do when the fighting started and he saw Redd? He said how she had been missed and bowed to her.
What do the Lord of Diamonds' actions tell us about his character? He is selfish, obnoxious, and he's not loyal.
Why did Redd think there was something redeeming about Jack of Diamonds? He seemed more interested in the fighting than scared.
How did Dodge's father die?
