Department of Children and Family Services We investigate child welfare & abuse allegations, we also manage foster care, & adoption.
Community and Senior Services We investigate abuse claims against our senior & disabled population. We provide nutrition and other life-enhancing services to seniors. We provide employment services to adults & youth. We offer mediation services to avoid court filings.
Department of Public Health We give your favorite restaurant a letter grade. We inspect sewage treatment and water plants; enforces state and local environmental laws We manage Substance Abuse Prevention & Control, HIV & STD Programs , & Emergency Preparedness and Response.
LA County Office of Education Under the leadership of LA County Superintendent Debra Duardo and a County Board, we support 80 public school districts and numerous other agencies in ensuring educational excellence for the region's two million preschool and school-age children.
LA County Parks and Recreation We proudly maintain 182 outdoor public areas for you. We also provide larger facilities, four aboretas, botanic gardens, nature centers, & the world's largest municipal golf course system w/ 20 courses .
Department of Mental Health We're the largest of our kind in the nation. We operate 75 program sites in the county and serves over 250,000 patients annually. Our headquarters is located on Vermont Ave in Koreatown, LA, California. Keep us in mind!
LA County Department of Probation We're the largest of our kind in the entire world. We got it poppin in 1903. We oversee 3 juvenile halls & 18 "camps". If you or your bff has jewelry on your ankle that blinks and never comes off even in the shower, we probably hooked you up.
LA County Sheriff We're 17,694 employees deep, the nation's largest of these. We say we have 3 jobs: patrol services for 153 unincorporated communities of LA County, & 42 cities, courthouse security & housing/transit of convicts, friends, & family members in jail.
LA County Department of Public Social Services We serve over 10 mil residents in a county larger in population than 42 states, encompassing 88 cities. We're 2nd largest dept. in LA County & the largest one of these in the nation. We serve 1 of every 3 residents . We got Food Stamps, Tanf, & Medcaid.
LA County Department of Health Services We run the hospitals & clinics in LA County, and is United States' second largest NYC.
LA County Public Library We're the 2nd largest one of these in the nation. We've been lit since 1912 & we're free!! We've got 7.5 million books, we also offers magazines, newspapers, government publications & many specialized materials including online databases.
