What was Hobbes view on people? Believed people were cruel, and selfish (in a natural way).
What were Hobbes thoughts on government? Believed in a strong, and powerful government, because then the people in society would be controlled and respect each other.
What book outlined his theories? Leviathan.
What was the "Leviathan"? The "Leviathan" held all of Hobbes thoughts and this is what he wrote his argument in, on how people naturally have no respect for one another.
What is the "Social Contract" theory? The Social Contract theory was the theory of giving up your freedoms for a better more orderly society.
Did Thomas Hobbes believe in a strong, and powerful government, or did he believe in a less controlling, and less powerful government? Hobbes strongly believed in a strong, and powerful government so the society could be under more control.
When was Hobbes born, and where? 1588, in Westport, England.
When did Hobbes die, and where? 1679, in Hardwick Hall, England.
What was Hobbes most famous work? Leviathan.
