What is the 1st Amendment? It gives us the freedom of speech, religion, assemble, and petition
What is the 2nd Amendment? The right to own a gun.
What is the 3rd Amendment? The right not allow soldiers in your hosehold
What is the 4th? Protects citizens from unreasonable searches or seizures.
5th? The right to plead the 5th
The Bill of Rights. First ten amendments of the U.S Constitution.
Separation of church and state The division between religion and government.
Self-Incrimination Testifying against oneself.
Due Process of Law The fair application of the law to one’s case.
Eminent Domain The power of the government to take private property for public use.
Bail Money or property an accused person gives a court to hold as guarantee that he or she will appear for trial.
Civil Rights THE rights guaranteed to all U.S citizens.
Suffrage THE right to vote.
Poll tax A special tax that had to be paid in order to vote.
Draft A policy requiring men to serve in the military
Rationed Limited by law to a certain amount per household
Jury Duty Serving on a Jury.
What are the freedoms guaranteed by the first amendment? Freedom of Speech Freedom of Petition Freedom of Religion Freedom of Assembly Freedom of the Press
How are amendments 13, 14, and 15 related? They are often grouped together because it's all about the Rights of African Americans.
