Caudal toward the tail end
cranial toward the head end
medial toward the midline
lateral away from the midline
distal away from the center of the body
proximal toward the center the body
dorsal pertaining to the back

planter underside of back paw
peripheral outermost surface of the body
rostral toward the tip of the nose
