Full Faith and Credit Clause | Found in Article 4 of the Constitution, this clause says that states must respect laws of other states. |
Extradition | Found in Article 4 of the Constitution, if a criminal flees a state for a crime, once they are caught, they must be sent back to the state where the crime was committed. |
Amendment | From Article 5 of the Constitution, this is a change or addition to the US Constitution. Most were proposed by ⅔ of Congress and ratified (approved) by ¾ of state legislatures. |
Supremacy Clause | From Article 6 of the Constitution, this states that the US Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Federal law is above state law. |
Ratification | This word means to approve. The 13th and final state approved the Constitution in 1790. It was written in 1787. |
Reserved powers | From the 10th amendment, these are powers set aside for states |
Bill of Rights | Ratified in 1791, these are the first 10 amendments of the US Constitution. The give rights to people to protect them from the federal government (supported by anti-federalists) |
