| Term | Definition |

| team | a group of people organized around a common goal |
| leader | a person who has the power to influence the behavior of others |
| follower | a person who supports a group by helping put goals into actions |
| diversity | condition of a group whose members represent many different cultures |
| autocratic leadership | leader has full control of the group and makes the decisions for the group |
| democratic leadership | members are encouraged to participate in the decision-making process by voting |
| laissez-faire | a style of leadership in which members may do whatever they want to do and leaders are on hand only to serve as resources |
| motivation | a force that gives people a reason to take action |
| brainstorming | a group method of solving problems in which members offer any and all ideas |
| tact | knowledge of what to do or say to avoid offending others |
| constitution | a set of major laws used to govern an organization |
| bylaws | a set of rules that expand upon the organization's constitution |
| parliamentary procedure | guidelines followed by many organizations to help them conduct meetings in an orderly fashion |
