Term | Definition |

Right Triangle | A three-sided shape that has one right angle and two acute angles. |
Right angle | An angle that measures 90 degrees. |
Acute Angle | An angle whose measure is less than 90 degrees. |
Obtuse Angle | An angle whose measure is more than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees. |
Square | A four-sided shape that has two sets of parallel sides, four equal sides, and four right angles. |
Rectangle | A four-sided shape that has two sets of parallel sides, opposing sides are the same length, and four right angles. |
Trapezoid | A four-sided shape that has one set of parallel sides. |
Rhombus | A four-sided shape that has two sets of parallel sides, four equal sides, and 2 acute and 2 obtuse angles |
Kite | A four-sided shape that no parallel sides |
Perpendicular lines | Lines that intersect at a 90 degree angle |
Vertex | The point where two line segments , lines, or two rays meet. |
