Term | Definition |

Ascending | Order sorts text from beginning to end, such as from A to Z. |
Cells | Are the rectangles that are formed when rows and columns intersect. |
Cell range | Is identified by two or more cells within the table. |
Descending | Order sorts text from the end to the beginning from Z to A. |
Formulas | Calculates a total, computes an average, determine the highest/lowest, and counts values. |
Header row | The first row of the table that contains information that helps identify the contents of a particular column. |
Merge cells | Means to combine two or more cells into one. |
Quick Tables | Are built in preformatted tables, such as calendars and tabular lists which you can insert and use in your documents. |
Sort | Data means to arrange it alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically |
Split cells | Means to divide one cell into two or more cells. |
Table | Is an arrangement of data made up of horizontal rows and vertical columns. |
