Bibliography A Works Cited list
Bookmark A reference point, a location, or a selection of text that you name and identify for future reference
Caption A line of text that describes an object, which can appear above or below the object it describes
Citation A note specifying the source of information
Endnote Automatically numbered and is placed at the end of a document
Footer Appears at the bottom
Footnote Placed at the bottom of the page on which the citation is located
Header Appears at the top of a document page
Hyperlink A way to jump from one location to another, either within the same document or to an external location
Hypertext transfer protocol How the data is transferred to the external site through the servers
MLA style (Modern Language Association) A single spaced with a hanging indent and double spacing between each foot note
Plagiarism To copy someone else’s work without giving credit to them
Source Includes all the information about where a specific element of your paper comes from, so the reader can find the original work. It could be a book, report, journal article, or website
Tab leader The symbols that appear between the table of contents topic and the corresponding page number
Table of Authorities A specialized type of bibliography used in legal documents
Table of Contents An ordered list of the headings in a document, along with the page numbers on which the headings are found
Works Cited A collection of sources that you place at the end of a document
