Imperialism | Expansion of a country's territory |
Ancient | Belonging to the very distant past and no longer in existence |
Chunnel | A railroad tunnel under the English Channel between Great Britain and France |
Cottage Industry | An industry whose labor force consists of family units or individuals working at home with their own equipment |
Parliament | The legislative body of a government |
European Union | A political union in Europe that wants to establish common economic, foreign, security, and justice policies |
World War | A war involving many large nations in all different parts of the world |
Conflict | A disagreement between groups that leads to war |
Alliances | Agreement between two or more parties, made in order to advance common goals and to secure common interests |
Holocaust | Destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war |
Genocide | Deliberate destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group |
