The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Pub. L. No. 101-476 (1990) Changed the term “handicapped” to “individuals with disabilities”
The Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1974 (Public Law 93-516) & White House Conference on disabilities to assure that all individuals with disabilities are able to live their lives independently and with dignity, and that the complete integration of all individuals with handicaps into normal community living
