Ratios, Rates, FDP, Proportions

TermDefinition
Ratio A comparison of two values of the same kind.
Rational Number All integers, fractions, and decimals.
Equivalent Another word for something that is equal in value or amount.
Mixed Number A number written with a whole number with a fraction.
Numerator The top part of a fraction or the number showing how many parts of the whole.
Denominator The bottom part of the fraction or the number showing how many parts the whole is divided into.
Unit Rate A comparison of two measurements where the denominator is one.
Input/Output Tables A method to show data and how they compare.
Percent Out of one hundred.
Rate A ratio between two measurements with different units.
Ascending Listing of things least to greatest.
Descending Listing of things greatest to least.
Improper Fraction A fraction that is equal to or larger than 1.
