Term | Definition |

Backstage view | A tool that offers quick access to commands which include file management etc. |
Block Style | Formatting type that aligns text. |
Command | Instruction based on an action you click on in word when you click a button. |
Dialogue Box | A small area on the screen where your prompted to type information in |
Dialogue Box Launcher | A button/command that opens the dialogue box. |
Groups | Collections of related word commands |
i-beam | When you hover over your text its a cursor that looks like a large I. and you insert. |
insertion point | The blinking line where you start your text |
menu | Has buttons and options on it. Could be dropdown |
Mixed punctuation | When a colon is placed after the comma. |
nonprinting characters | Formatting marks that arent shown after printing. |
open punctuation | No punctuation after the closing |
preview | Allows you to see your document and what it looks like before its printed |

quick toolbar access | A customizable toolbar that contains commands that are commonly used. |
repeat | To keep on doing something repeatedly |
Ribbon | Set of toolbars at the top of the windows in microsoft office programs. |
Save | To overwrite your previous work |
Save as | To save a new piece of work |
Settings | A menu with lots of commands that can allow you to use certain features |
Tabs | Areas that use groups or collections of related word commands. |
Template | Starting point for a new document |
undo | go back to what you had before |
White space | Blank space |
Word wrap | makes all text fit in a margin |
