dialogue box launcher | a small arrow in the lower right corner of the group that you clicl to launch a dialoge box |
groups | collection of related word commands |
i-beam | when you place your cursor near it the insertion point changes to a large i |
insertion | in the upper left corner of this document is where you begin creating your text |
menu | list of options associated with the groups you click the drop-down arrow to display |
mixed punctuation | requires a colon after the salutation and a comma after the ending or closing |
nonprinting characters | symbols for certain formatting commands |
open punctuation | requires no punctuation after the salutation or closing |
preview | see it before you print |
to take a document off the computer and onto a paper and print it off | |
quick access tool bar | located above the Ribbon to the left and contains commands that users use most often |
repeat | to do it over and over again |
ribbon | contains multiple commands on different tabs |
save | located in the quick Access Toolbar as a button for the first time opens the Save As screen |
save as | appears as a command listed in Backstage view when you click the file tabs |
settings | "tool bar" |
tabs | different pages on the same browser |
template | master document with a default page layout |
undo | a command that lets you cancel the previous command |
white space | the space between pages of the document |
word wrap | wraps text to next line when it reaches the right margin |
