Communities | A group of different populations of organisms |
Ecosystem | A collection of different communities and the abiotic factors. |
Niche | The unique role of an organism within its community. |
Food Chain | The flow of energy from one organism to the next. |
Food Web | Shows the interactions among many different food chains in a single ecosystem. |
Producer | Organism that can create its own food through the process of photosynthesis |
Consumer | Organism that feeds on other organisms or organic matter because it cannot make its own food |
Decomposer | Organisms that break down dead plants and animals into nutrients for the soil |
Scavenger | An animal the feeds off dead or decaying matter |
