backstage veiw view is a screen that appears when you click the File tab
i beam I-beam pointer, is a mouse cursor, indicating that the mouse is over an area
command is an instruction based on an action that you perform in Word by clicking a button or entering information into a command box
ribbon contains multiple commands on separate tabs.

file tab ile tab is a section on the Office ribbon that gives you access to file functions
dialog box launcher small arrow in the lower-right corner of the group—that you click to launch
group The primary purpose of user groups is to simplify access control to computer systems
quick access toolbar The Quick Access Toolbar is a customizable toolbar that contains a set of commands that are independent of the tab on the ribbon that is currently displayed
tab Read Mode, tab text that appears blue when active, a blue background for the status bar
block style Block style refers to style of overall paragraph formatting in a typewritten letter,
insertion point In graphics-based programs, the insertion point is the point where the next characters typed from the keyboard will appear on the display screen
menu A menu is a set of options presented to the user of a computer application to help the user find information or execute a program function.
Mixed punctuation style, a colon is placed after the salutation and a comma is placed after the closing.
Nonprinting characters is a number that represents a non-written or non-printable character
Open punctuation The definition of open punctuation is using few punctuation marks when writing
Preview Previewing allows you to see exactly how the document will appear when printed.
Print A printer is a device that accepts text and graphic output from a computer and transfers the information to paper
save it keeps it stored until you delete
save as save which allows you to specify the name and location of the file you are saving.
settings A software control panel that enables the user to configure the appearance or actions in an application, operating system
Template A template is a file that serves as a starting point for a new document.
undo Undo is an interaction technique which is implemented in many computer programs. It erases the last change done to the documens
White space white space is often referred to as negative space. It is the portion of a page left unmarked
word wrap cause (a word or unit of text) to be carried over to a new line automatically as the margin is reached, or to fit around embedded features such as pictures.
