Lesson 1 Vocabulary
Term | Definition |

Backstage view | A screen that appears when you click file tab |
Command | A instruction based on an action when you perform in Word by clicking a button or entering information into a command box |
Dialog Box | A box the prompt the use for addition information |
Dialog Box Launcher | A small icon on the ribbon that opens a dialog box relative to that group |
File Tab | The file tab is the tab on the ribbon that opens the backstage view |
Group | Collections of related word |
I-Beam | When you place your cursor near it, the insertion point changes to a large “I |
Ribbon | contains multiple tabs on command |
Tab | A labeled section of the ribbon it contains a group or revealed to it |
Block Style | format aligns text along the left margin, including the date, inside address, salutation, body of the letter, closing, and signature. |

Menu | a list of options associated with them; you click the drop-down arrow to display the menu |
