Word Lesson 2: Basic Editing
Term | Definition |

Autocorrect | Replaces symbols, commonly misspelled words and abbreviations. |
Clipboard | Stores items for you to paste it into another location of the document or another Office file. |
Copy | Word places a duplicate in the clipboard. |
Cut | Word removes it from the original location and places the text in the Clipboard collection. |
Document Properties | Identifies the creator of the document, the date the document was created, its subject and category, and keywords that can be used to search for the document. |
Go-To | A way to navigate through longer documents quickly. |
Navigation Pane | Provides options for browsing and searching in a document. |
Object Zoom | Enables you to zoom in on objects such as tables, charts, or images while in Read Mode |
Paste | Pastes text from the Clipboard to a new location in either the original document or a new document. |
Read Mode | Changes the page layout of the document with a larger font for easier reading. |
Replace | You can use the Find and Replace command to replace words throughout the document. |
Thumbnails | Helps to navigate through the document and to zoom in and out (small pictures). |
Wildcards | Finds word or phrases that contain specific letters or combination of letters. |
