Angle | A shape, formed by two lines or rays diverging from a common point |
Base | the number of different digits or combination of digits and letters that a system of counting uses to represent numbers |
Circumference | The distance around the edge of a circle |
Complementary | when two angles add up to 90° |
Diameter | any straight line segment that passes through the center of the circle and whose endpoints lie on the circle |
Dimensions | A measurement of length in one direction |
Face | each flat surface of any geometric solid |
Inscribed | drawing one shape inside another so that it just touches |
Line | a line of points that extends infinitely in two directions |
Line Segment | a part of a line that is bounded by two distinct end points, and contains every point on the line between its endpoints |
Parallel | two lines that are always the same distance apart and never touch |
Perpendicular | at right angles |
Pi (TT) | is a number - approximately 3.142. It is the circumference of any circle divided by its diameter |
Plane Sections | the area created by a plane cutting through a solid |
Pyramid | a polyhedron formed by connecting a polygonal base and a point |
Radius | any of the line segments from its center to its perimeter |
Ray | A portion of a line which starts at a point and goes off in a particular direction to infinity |
Right Rectangular Prism | a rectangular prism has a rectangle as its base, and vertical sides perpendicular to the base |
Right Rectangular Pyramid | is a three-dimensional object with a rectangle for a base and a triangular face corresponding to each side of the base |
Supplementary | when two angles add up to 180 degrees |
Vertical | a line which runs from up and down the page |
