Lesson 3

Character Formatting

TermDefinition
Character Single letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark.
Character Spacing Refers to the spacing in and around each character of text. Options are: scales, spacing, and position.
Character Styles Applied to individual characters or words that you select.
Font Is a typeface that applies a style to characters.
Live Preview Shows you how your document will look with the selected feature.
Paragraph Styles The format is applied instantly to all text in the paragraph where the insertion point is located, whether or not that text is selected.
Point Size Refers to the height of characters, with one point equaling approximately 1/72 of an inch.
Text Effects Adds a distinctive appearance to selected text, wucha s outline, shadow, glow, and reflection.
WordArt Is a feature that creates decorative effect with text.
