Creating Tables
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Ascending | Order sorts from beginning to end. Like A to Z and January to December. |
Cells | Are the rectangles that are formed when rows and columns intersect. |
Cell range | Is identified by two or more cells within the table. |
Descending | Order sorts text from the end to the beginning. Like Z to A and 10 to 1. |
Formulas | To calculate a total, compute an average, determine the highest/lowest number, and count values. |
Header Row | Is the first row of the table that contains information that helps identify the contents of a particular column. |
Merge cells | To combine two or more cells into one. |
Quick Tables | Are built-in preformatted tables, such as calendars and tabular lists, which you can insert and use in your documents. |
Sort | To arrange data it alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically. |
Split cells | To divide one cell into two or more cells. |
Table | Is an arrangement of data made up of horizontal rows and vertical columns |
