Understanding Tables
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Ascending | Sorts text from the beginning to the end (A to Z, 1-10, Jan to Dec) |
Cells | Rectabgles that are formed when rows and columns intersect |
Cell Range | A collection of certain cells in a spreadsheet |
Descending | Sorts text from the end to the beginning (Z to A, 10 to 1, Dec to Jan) |
Formulas | Used to calculate a total, compute an average, determine the highest/lowest number, and count values. |
Header Row | The first row of a table that has information to help identify the contents of a perticular column |
Merge Cells | When you combine two or more cells into one |
Quick Tables | Built-in preformatted tables like calendars and tabular lists |
Sort | To arrange data alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically. |
Split Cells | To divide one cell into two or more cells |
Table | An arrangement of data made up of horizontal rows and vertical columns |
