Lesson 8 Using Illustrations and Graphics

TermDefinition
Caption Consist of few descriptive words and are typically used for figures, tables, and equations.
Crop When you crop a picture, you trim the horizontal or vertical
Drawing Canvas Serves as a guide
Embedded Object When you insert a picture into a document
Floating Object A format for a picture.... word positions the image precisely on the page
Inline Object It moves along with the text that surrounds it
Linked Object creates a connection between the document and external picture file
Scale increases or decreases the original picture's height and width by a percentage
Screen Clippings enables you to draw a box and capture an image of its contents
Screenshot The illustration group on the insert tab, a menu appears containing thumbnails of the computer's currently opened windows
Shapes figures such as lines, rectangles, block arrows, equation shapes, flowcharts, stars, banners, and callouts.
Smart-art Graphics graphical illustrations available from a list of various categories
WordArt a feature that creates decorative effects with text.
