Bibliography | contains only books |
book mark | reference point, a location, or selection of text that you name and identify for future reference |
caption | line of text that describes an object which can appear above or below the object it describes |
citation | a note specifying the source of information |
endnote | placed in a list at the end of the document |
footer | appears at the bottom of a document page |
footnote | placed at the bottom of the page on which the citation is located |
header | appears at the top of a document page |
hyperlink | way to jump from one location to another within the same document or to an external location |
hypertext transfer protocol | (HTTP) is how the data is transferred to the external site through the servers |
MLA style | must be single spaced with a hanging indent and double spacing, between each footnote, while endnote is double spaced with a first line indent |
plagiarism | paraphrasing or summarizing outside sources without giving the original author credit |
source | includes all the information about where a specific element of your paper comes from |
tab leader | symbols that appear between the table of contents topic and the corresponding page number |
table of authorities | specialized type of bibliography used in legal documents |
table of contents | an ordered list of the headings in a document |
works cited | a collection of sources that you place at the end of a document |
