What is the push/pull theory? Says that people migrate because of difficulties and hope for better life.
What are some examples of PUSH factors for people migrating from a country? People migrate because difficulties "push" them to leave.
What are some "pull" factors for people migrating to a particular country? The hope for a better life "pulls" people to a new country.
What was a PULL factor in the 1800s that led people to move to cities? Job opportunities pulled Irish families to the United States.
What is a PULL factor of living in the suburbs? The growth of industry during the 1800s pulled people from the countryside to cities.
What are some problems of urbanization? cities can not keep up with how fast people are moving to them.
What are some PUSH factors causing people to leave rural areas? There are few jobs and a shortage of landform.
