What was the Yazoo Land Fraud? the sale of western land for land companies after the members of the General Assembly had been bribed
What kind of state was Georgia? an agricultural state
What was a cotton gin? a machine that would remove seeds from cotton by brushing the fiber through slits that were to small for the seeds
Who invented the cotton gin? Eli Whitney
What was the land lottery? a plan for the state to make population growth by selling land at a low market price
What was the cotton belt? a place were cotton grew well, located below the mountains and above the less fertile pine barrens in south Georgia
What are canals? they were man made waterways used to connect bodies of water
What branches of government we Executive and Legislative
What were some problems that Georgia faced? made a healthy relationship with Native Americans, pay war debts, and rebuild lands to make a profit once more
What was the head right system? a legal grant of land to settlers
What does unicameral mean? having a single legislative chamber
How could loyalists return to Georgia after the war? they could join the continental troops or make a formal request to return
What document established the first government of the united states? Articles of Confederation
Which creek would not willingly give up land? upper creek
What is credit? an agreement between a lender and a borrower, who promises to repay the lender at a later date—generally with interest
